matt mullenweg wordcamp davao city

I never thought that I will be so happy attending this event… “For the first time” (the most common line used these days because of the movie title (^_^)… Matt Mullenweg here in Davao City conducting WordCamp for the first time (^_^)

I know the developer of wordpress will be here in WordCamp Davao City but I do not know what he looks like nor do I know his name, sorry po hindi kasi ako mashado addict sa wordpress although I have so many blogs created using wordpress for my clients and …
the baby site Ice9web.co.cc was my first wordpress.org blog and I also have a wordpress.com blog of the same name that is private.

Matt Mullenweg in Wordcamp DavaoMy friends namely: MaryDane, Henry, Revero Dante and I had so much fun, the place was perfect although the weather was not still the event carry over the serenity of nature with the touch of deliciously prepared Bryan’s Grill food yummy! eat all you can.

Also Katherine Lara was there I was very surprise to see her our Ex-Officemate, she arrived along with Matt Mallenweg whew!

We received the first 20 early birds give away (^_^) Blue WordPress bag (nasa pic ko with Matt)

The first to speak was from DavaoBloggers.com he promoted our peaceful city Davao to surpass all the negative news, and of course the technology here in Davao are getting sophisticated (wiFi are available in most fast food) he also encourage us to register and have a blog in DavaoBloggers.com and to write good experiences in Davao.

Another speaker was Bibo from Dabaweño talks almost the same topic.

Now the most awaited was Matt Mullenweg the founding developer of Wordpress oh I never thought Matt Mullenweg (indeed handsome in person) was the person we are waiting for (^_^) nakakatawa noh! developer ako ng wordpress blogs sa mga clients ko may hindi ko kilala the person behind it

I delivered the question about my problem in baseCampComm.com (WordPress Blog of my client) WP-SlimStat that acted like a google analytics but more detailed “how will I migrate the huge database to the higher version of wordpress? (my client is very meticulous with his visitors and PR).
Matt Mullenweg answered me that this plugin was the MIT GPL version of SlimStat (oh whatever those means but I will surely research for it) and he also mentioned bout the huge database and logged it create, and that he stopped supporting the said plugin :(

Upon taking some group pictures Matt Mullenweg and I had a small chitchat about it he said that to convince my client not to use it since Google Analytics acted like one.
He also said that 2.7 is about to be release in November… well…

in wordcamp davaoOh there was a topic I heard from Matt Mullenweg about Category/gallery.php that in every category you choose will have a different template (hmmm interesting ha :)
and BodyPress plugin is a facebook or friendster in a box (sa isip ko wow! CMS na talaga dating pang laban sa Drupal :)

Overall I really enjoyed this awaited event though it was raining still it was a success!
I congratulate Blogie Robillo one of the Best Organizer I met, sent him a message before I go to sleep.

Nice to see you there, Ice. :) We were so lucky to have him here in Davao. Come to think of it, we were like only 40 there, sa Manila, there will be at least 400 participants. Ang hirap sana makapaphoto op nun with Matt. Hahahah! :)
